2003-10-?? - Introduction to Linux

2003-11-?? - MySQL and PHP Tutorial

About this tutorial

What's it about?

Rich did a practical presentation on how to edit in iMovie using the Mac labs in Babbage.

As far as I remember, we had a game getting in due to us booking the room but not actually being allowed in because we didn't have the keycode. Luckily, Gem had dated somebody who used the rooms and got us in.

On a side note, we also gained about 4 extra members that night.

About this tutorial

Tutorial : 2 Date : 2007-10-15 Tutor : Ben A'Lee, Rich Jeffery and Dan Cosser What's it about?

4 languages, 20 minutes each, what can you do?

Come join us on a whistle-stop tour of languages we think are cool.

We're not talking your run-of-the-mill here - no C++, Java or assembly.

We're talking the languages we've used and think are special in some way, and think they are worth having a go at.

At the moment, our choices will be: Ruby, Python, C# and Brainf*ck (and possibly Chef and all the other exceptionally odd languages). Download the Presentations

  Ben's presentation goes here

Rich's presentation will be up here soon.

About this tutorial

Date : 26/11/2007 Tutor : Dan Cosser What's it about?

Join Dan Cosser as he delves through the whats, hows, and tos of writing advanced CSS.

CSS is a powerful computing tool (not to be confused with the Brazillian band of the same name), but many people mistreat it, call it bad names or produce some of the most godforsaken code known to man.

Dan is going to cut through this and show you how to build structured, manageable, useful code that is both brilliant in design and useful in nature.

Part 2 will be in January 2008, where he will be delving into cross-browser coding (or 'How to build useful CSS fixes for poorly-coded browsers like Internet Explorer). Download the Presentation

About this tutorial

Date : 2008-03-10 Tutor : Dan Cosser What's it about?

The functional language Lisp has long been hailed as a wonderful language, but is comparatively rarely used outside of academia. A large part of this maybe down to the fact that it is completely alien to programmers raised in C, Java or VB. In this tutorial, Dan will explain the concepts behind Scheme, a Lisp variant that has many followers. Resources
